Gummerus is one the oldest publishing houses in Finland. The company was founded in 1872 and has been run as an independent family business until September 2019. It is now part of Storytel. Their publishing programme includes a broad range of both domestic and translated fiction and non-fiction, publishing around 160 new titles every year. Gummerus employs about twenty-five publishing professionals and is Finland's third largest trade publisher.
