Founded in 1708, Stock is France's oldest publishing house and has been part of the Hachette Group since 1961. They mainly publish works of foreign literature, contemporary non fiction, memoirs, current affairs and French literary fiction.
La Collection Bleue includes classic as well as contemporary works by French authors. La Bibliothèque Cosmopolite specialises in foreign literature. Created in 1921, this series includes some 20 Nobel prizewinners and other celebrated authors such as Tolstoy, Virginia Woolf, Stefan Zweig, James Baldwin and Joyce Carol Oates, as well as such contemporary authors as Sofi Oksanen, Rachel Kushner, Claire Fuller, Kevin Powers and many others.
